news flash new additions to The Badgers of Fingles Wood xxx

Well that was it, the hustle and bustle of arranging all the class rooms began. The lighting was finished. The cave walls had been decorated and one of Uncle Cled's nephews from the lower sett came and painted beautiful murals over the classroom walls, some of them on boards even, they looked so real.

(Would you like to see them? This one is outside, do you all like it?
Uncle Willowdown did it for us, aren't we lucky xxx Immy.)

this is one of the classroom walls

Everything seemed to be going really well, Great Aunt Izzy made sure that Immy and Eddy were not overdoing things.
"I really can't think what we used to do all day before those two teenagers came here to live. Why even the youngest ones seem to be behaving themselves." She said to Mrs Clarissa Buck, "They just don't seem to get tired and yet I'm sure they talk half the night as well."
And so it was, always things to be done; paths to clear, the few odd trees to be felled to make access easier for the weasels and stoats who were coming to get through. It had taken Eddy and Immy quite a while to persuade even one of them to attend the school but something happened the Thursday before the school was to open on the Monday.
It was rather a cold day, there had been quiet a heavy fall of rain and all the paths were very slippery in parts. To the left of the old church yard that had long since become a ruin there was a stairway that was carved out between two pieces of rock by the Elves of Fingles Wood, many years earlier. The "Big people" called it the "Devil's Stairway" when they found it, which made the Elves laugh, however they let the name stay because it kept the little ones
from playing around them because they had become very unsafe at the bottom.
Eddy was busy helping Uncle Buck, William and Stephen to clear away some fallen rocks from the top of the rise above the old Huntsman's cottage. Suddenly they heard a loud yelp, followed by a lot of screaming. It sounded as if someone had got themselves caught in a trap. Within minutes the girls had bounded away through the undergrowth and there lying near the bottom of the Devil's Stairway was Wilhelmina Walls, the four year old daughter of the Wall Weasels, nothing was to be seen of her two brothers.
"Immy you say with her and I'll go down to the bottom and see if I can find a way up to her." And without furthermore ado, Eddy was climbing down the side of the rock face and inching her way towards the steps. The Elves were right the bottom three or four steps had become dislodged in the small gap and as Eddy placed her foot on the closest one to her, the one beneath it slipped. Wilhemina screamed, Immy let out a yell and eddy grabbed hold of a piece of ivy. It held fast to the ground and Eddy managed to regain her footing and pull herself onto the first safe step.
By this time the Brocks had arrived with some rope and a ladder, but it was no use there was no where for the ladder to stand safe.
"Uncle Buck, if you give me the rope I can throw it to Immy she can then take it over the top where the boys can tie it off and hold it steady." She smiled at her sister, "You ok Immy,"" Immy nodded her head she looked almost as worried as the little Wilhelmina, "I have a good idea Immy, why don't you teach Wilhelmina here a little song, one that we will be teaching in school." she winked at her sister. "I know just the one," Immy said smiling, be it a bit forced. "We shall sing Row, row, row your boat, do you know that one Wilhelmina darling?"
Willy shook her little head and gripped onto the rope that Immy placed in her paws. "Right, then I will sing it to you. Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream, Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily life is but a dream.

Come on it's your turn now and as we sing the row, row, row bit we will both move up the rope, is that ok my darling," she whispered in the little ones ear. For the first time since they arrived at the steps the little one smiled and with Eddy behind her helping her up the stairs, Immy in front of her guiding her little paws over the rope, and the whole lot of them singing row, row your boat, they were up at the top in next to no time.
They were safe,

Whoops look at the time, Diddily must go to bed now. See you all soon . xxx Diddily dee dot of Seligor's Castle

Extract from Chapter Two of the Gathering of the Dragons

The Gathering of the Dragon Lord of Chirron

A short extract from the Second Chapter
by D. Milnes Sinclair.

Baizal's Funeral

Noticing Valcour’s total lack of response, Seligor reached across and touched his arm; Valcour started and drew himself away from his brother’s touch.
“Don’t do that, don’t you dare touch me again, I heard what the old goat said,” he hissed through closed teeth, whilst he wiped the sleeve of his gown where Seligor had touched him as though there was dirt on it. He leant forward and stared once more at Yodroth.
“Will what be to my liking?” He shouted spraying spit all over the table. Yodroth frowned staring at the spittle as it collected in little globules over the polished surface. Yodroth placed his talons on the table. “It would seem, My Lord Valcour, that staying in Thordoy has done nothing to enhance your manners, not to mention damaging your hearing, but I will repeat my question. I asked, will you return to Chirron and rule at your brother’s side?” Val’s eyes flashed instantly as though the question asked had triggered off a remote control unit in his brain. “Sit at which side, old man?” he asked almost coyly. Yodroth looked at him trying very hard to understand what the young prince wanted him to say. “What do you mean which side?” he asked quietly
yet deliberately. “Well, O Ancient One, I’ve only got two sides, the right and the left.” Val snorted. “I can’t see any more than two sides, can you old man? Yodroth drew in his breath and placed the parchment on the table. “In that case my lord, I am asking you will you return to Chirron and rule at your brother’s right hand?”
“Ha! I knew it, Salenas said it would be like this, and he was right.” Val shouted at the top of his voice throwing his arms in the air. A deadly hush fell over the chamber; Valcour could feel their eyes looking at him. “A long time since I had an audience,” he thought. “This could be quite a
play.” He spread his huge talons on the table and began to rise; as he pulled himself up off the slab he dug his claws deep into the tabletop. Seligor watched as his long nails sank easily into the hardened wood. It was difficult to believe how much they had grown, much, much longer than was normal for a Serraph Dragon, he sighed deeply, what has happened to this brother of mine?”
The sound filled the chamber as each nail gouged a deep furrow into the table’s surface. Realizing that Seligor was staring at him he slowly turned to face his brother, and for a brief moment Seligor felt the urge to move away, the hate in Valcour’s eyes spoke chapters. He checked himself and stood up to face his younger brother, neither moved, and then Seligor leant forward and whispered in Valcour’s ear. “Put one foot wrong Val, and brother or not, I’ll keep you here as my prisoner, till the end of your days.”

words by: Lenny Lipton
music by: Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul and Mary)

Puff, the magic dragon
Lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist
In a land called Honah Lee

To the land of Honah LeeLittle Jackie Paper
Loved that rascal Puff,
Puff and Jackie
And brought him strings and sealing wax
And other fancy stuff. Oh!

Puff, the magic dragon
Lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist
In a land called Honah Lee

Autumn DragonPuff, the magic dragon
Lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist

In a land called Honah Lee

Together they would travelPuff the Magic Dragon
On a boat with billowed sail
Jackie kept a lookout perched
On Puff's gigantic tail

Noble kings and princes
Would bow whene'er they came,
Pirate ships would lower their flag
When Puff roared out his name. Oh!

Puff and Jackie built as a sand sculpturePuff, the magic dragon
Lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist
In a land called Honah Lee

A dragon lives foreverThere are quite a lot of books and songs written about Puff the Magic Dragon

But not so little boys
Painted wings and giant rings
Make way for other toys.

One grey night it happened,
Jackie Paper came no more
And Puff that mighty dragon,
He ceased his fealess roar.

A MESSAGE FROM SELIGOR, THE DRAGON LORD OF CHIRRON

And so it
began:-

The Story of the Dragon
Lords

I started to write The Dragon Lords
in 1995 when I was spending my holidays at my
sisters in Spain. Bored stiff with sitting by the pool all day it the scorching heat, I decided
to write a small story. Well the small story turned into a Trilogy over the next few years and although everyone thought it was fantastic and "Get it published" was the cry from the family. I didn't and never wanted too. Then a couple of years I decided to open a web site on my PC. just for messing around on. It was sometime in 2005 that my body decided it didn't want to go on and so I became a wheelchair person. This meant staying in and no more walking and so in January 2007 I opened Seligor's Castle, which has now grown
into a fabulous website for children of all ages, I also put on another website for the Dragon Lords. I think I was very naive back at the beginning of 2007 because I didn't present it properly and so the Dragon Lords was de-activated and another children's website Diddilydeedot's Dreamland took over, which although only being opened since January this year is also proving very successful.
Then due to many requests
asking for the Dragons to be brought back because people wanted to know past the first few chapters I have revamped the programme and now you have quite a wonderful site to visit along with a wonderful story. and added music to listen to if
you like background sounds.
Am I big headed?... No I'm not, it's just that I am very proud of my work and I love writing so much. I do spend many hours at the computer, even as much as eating here sometimes. My wonderful husband has changed our back room downstairs into a fantastic workplace come bedroom, come film studio (Sky) ha ha ha and everything else I require. I have beautiful gardens that I looked after till my illness but once again I am very lucky to have that
wonderful husband.
I go out to a writers group and recommend
this to anyone who wants to write. So if you live
in the Mold area of Wales, Monday
Morning 9.30 Daniel Owen Centre,
you'd be made very welcome. See what it can lead to, a wonderful ambition filled and a new
life. Hey by the way I
I too am an Ancient like myDragons. All of 64 this year. So don't ever give
up, keep trying it is amazing what you can achieve and also how many friends you can make on line. This is my blog for the day, I just felt it was time to say a little about this Diddily Dee
Dot who lives at Seligor's Castle, loves The Dragon Lords and is quite, quite crazy as well. xxxx

The oldest known flag of Scotland the saltire The Scottish flag is the cross of St. Andrew, also known as the Saltire.

It is said to be one of the oldest national flags of any country, dating back at least to the 12th century.
Tradition suggests that St.Andrew (an apostle of Jesus in the Christian religion) was put to death by the Romans in Greece by being pinned to a cross of this shape.

The Princess Cornflower Diaries March 26th 2008

Christine Hop
The Princess Cornflower Diaries.

March 26th 2008

It seems ages since I wrote anything in here, well a bit every day but nothing that would be exciting enough to share with anyone else. The day after Ann sprained her ankle we stayed up in the bedroom all day playing games, watching TV, a few DVD's and we even had a quick go on the playstation but Cathy came up and made us go to sleep.
This was the routine for the next week or more. Ann stayed the whole week Merle Hopthen Mrs Hop and Christina were going to have here over at thier place . Ann was all excited because her dad was going to be there as well and everyone one was hoping that Henry Carline and Merle Hop were going to become husband and wife soon. They had been seeing each other for ages. Henry Carline Blacksmith
Ann and her dad had moved to Peppercorn Green when Ann was very small. that is why Cornflower and her were such good friends. But over the last twelve months the friendship between Heny and Merle Hop had grown into something more, with a lot of encouragement from Ann and Christina obviously.
Now that will be a special day to write in my diary.

Thursday March 27th 2008

Hi there, it's just gone 9pm and the rain has been coming down in buckets all day. Mum and Dad went out and ordered some garden furniture for outside the patio doors leading into the palace kitchen. It had been so warm they thought it would be nice for Cathy to have a rest on. Personally I think a rain barrel would have been a better idea. Ha, ha.
However something funny did happen today. The girls all decided to come round for the day and we got to talking about the Peppercorn Olympics last year and after a lot of persuasion and promising that we would tidy up the kitchen after us we made ourselves some hotdogs for our dinner followed by toffee apples.

These are my best friends,

Cathy helped us with the recipe and getting everything out of the cupboards that we needed. Then the fun began. We were just tipping the flour in the bowl when Candy Puppy came rushing into the kitchen.

Oops here is Minnie with my hot chocolate. I will have to tell you what happened in the morning. xx Cornflower xx
